Newport Tennis Corridor of Fame Loses ATP Event to Saudi Arabia


The ATP 250 event performed in July on the Worldwide Tennis Corridor of Fame (ITHF) in Newport, R.I., will depart that metropolis following the July 2024 event.

A press release by the ITHF stated, “The present ATP 250 event sanction will probably be retired on the conclusion of the 2024 Infosys Corridor of Fame Open,” which is scheduled for July 14-21.

The event was purchased up by Saudi Arabia via its Public Funding Fund, which has invested in various different professional sports activities, together with golf, soccer, Formulation One and boxing.

In a press release, the Corridor of Fame stated it’s “within the means of reimagining skilled tennis in Newport with the expectation that starting in 2025, a brand new period of professional tennis on the historic courts will start.”
