Kenya: No Extra Lofty Ambition, No Extra Large Discuss – Omanyala Takes ‘Powerful’ Classes From 2023


Nairobi — African file holder Ferdinand Omanyala says he comes into the 2024 season with a special mentality, saying he has shifted his focus fully from massive targets and lofty ambitions to taking every race at a time.

Omanyala, talking to Capital Sports activities, says he learnt robust classes from final 12 months’s World Athletics Championships in Budapest which humbled him, having walked in to the Hungarian capital with an ambition of profitable a stacked 100m race.

“No predictions. Simply taking a race at a time,” Omanyala stated, as he spoke of his season’s plans.

He provides; “This 12 months I’m going in with a special mentality. I do not wish to offer you individuals an excessive amount of expectation like in Budapest. I’ll simply wait and take every race at a time.”

“It’s a robust lesson that I need not go a lot forward of myself and deal with every race because it comes. I do not wish to put an excessive amount of strain on myself however slightly take every race because it comes after which we see what we are able to do that 12 months,” the speedstar additional says.

On the World Championships in Budapest, Omanyala made the ultimate for the primary time ever, however could not battle to get into medal prospects regardless of travelling with a lot expectation and confidence.
